Do you need to know what version of Safari do I have?
Older versions of OS X don't get the newest fixes from Apple. That's just the way software works. If the old version of OS X you're running doesn't get important updates to Safari anymore, you're going to have to update to a newer version of OS X first. MacOS Big Sur didn't launch alongside iOS 14, iPadOS 14, tvOS 14, and watchOS 7 today, with the update coming later this fall, but Apple did release the Safari 14 update for macOS Catalina.
